A: This depends on the area. In downtown Seattle, you must have proof of vaccination to get into a restaurant or bar. There are also some rules about events, though I don’t know the details. Events that expect over a certain number of attendees must ask everyone to either provide proof of vaccination, or a negative covid test result, no more than 48 hours old.
In my area, just outside of Seattle, we do not need to show our proof of vaccination to go into a restaurant. Because of this, I have not been to a restaurant in a very long time. I believe asking for proof of vaccination is the only way for a restaurant to keep their staff members safe. Everyone has to take off their masks to eat, so the employees are left with no protection from their patrons without this rule.
