A: Basketball jerseys are tank tops with extremely large arm holes. The arm holes are generally large enough that areas of the chest and back are visible. It’s considered inappropriate to show your nipples in public, especially in school! Some schools allow them to be worn over a t-shirt, but some schools have banned them all together. Regular tank tops are often part of the policy because they can have very thin straps (called spaghetti straps, because they are as thin as a piece of spaghetti), which allow bra straps to be visible. It’s considered inappropriate to have your underwear visible.
